Ivory snuff box lined in  tortoishell, sculpted with a deformed face, probably of a sick man, in the style of unusual objects that  were collected  especially in Renaissance time to be kept in a "wunderkammer" (room of wonders).  The fineness of this object can also be seen in the hinge, made in tortoiseshell inside and in ivory outside.  Area Tedesca,  about 1820..With   CITES
