These lambrequins are made using cobalt blue, then the pieces are enriched with iron red applied using the Armenian bowl technique. In 1875, the painter Alfred Beau joined forces with the Porquier earthenware factory. Alfred Beau is the first artist to breathe creative life into Quimper earthenware. During his collaboration with Porquier, from 1873 to 1903, he created unique decorations: the botanical series known as the yellow border (approximately 122 different models identified), the Breton scenes (approximately 225 models) and the scenes of the legends (7 models) as well as as views of Breton landscapes (around 20 models).
