Cache Pot, J.vieillard Manufacture In Bordeaux, Polychrome Enamels, Caranza Japanese Decor

Square-shaped planter in fine earthenware from the J.Vieillard factory in Bordeaux. Each side presents a reserve with Japanese decoration of birds and plants in polychrome enamels in imitation of cloisonné, different decoration on each side, each reserve being delimited by garlands of flowers, scrolls and floral scrolls. This decoration is attributed to Amédée by Caranza who developed a technique of relief enamels and who collaborated with the J.Vieillard factory from 1878 to 1886
