Beautiful pair of large candelabra with three arms of light including a central one, in patinated and gilded bronze. Circular base decorated with palmettes and waves, pedestal chiseled with stars and olive frieze, central shaft knurled with flower crosspieces then fluted.
The latter ends in a large ring decorated with a frieze of acanthus leaves, ivy and flowers.
At its top, a new pedestal carries a sphere decorated on either side with a marine animal, extended by a long acanthus leaf holding a binet, the whole simulating the arms of light.
In the upper and central part of this sphere, a baluster foot made of acanthus leaves accommodates the third light, hidden under the “speckle” forming a flame.

Beautiful state of conservation.
Restauration period work.

Height: 53.5 cm
Base diameter: 15 cm

Good to know:
A candlestick can hold one or more candles. When a candlestick has several branches carrying candles, it can be called a candelabra. A girandole is the upper part of a candelabra, sometimes removable, carrying the arms of light.
