Sugar Vase , Paris 1798-1809, Marc Jacquard, Empire Period, Confiturier, Sterling Silver flag

Object description :

"Sugar Vase , Paris 1798-1809, Marc Jacquard, Empire Period, Confiturier, Sterling Silver"
Lovely Empire period sugar vase in solid silver with its intact interior in royal blue crystal. In several places it bears the guarantee hallmark known as "au premier coq" for the silver of the first title (950%). The frame is in perfect condition thanks to the significant thickness of the silver used. In the middle is a very beautiful representation of Cupid with a hunting dog. It is a scene inspired by the story of Greek mythology where the goddess of the hunt Artemis (Diana rom.) confiscates the archer of the little god of love which causes too many victims for her taste. The little winged god is forced to continue hunting without an archer and arrows. The jam vase  is quite tall and bears Marc Jacquard's master goldsmith's mark several times on his mount. It weighs 400 grams without its blue crystal interior.
