The painting is painted on a hardboard panel, signed and dated 55 lower left and dedicated on the back to the friend Hubert Cailly. It measures 28x40 cm unframed and is framed in a wooden frame. Peter Staechelin painted this painting during his apprenticeship at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel. He is best known for his abstract paintings based on the use of three pure colors.
