Large ROUND Pewter DISH with relief decoration, on the navel the captioned allegory of “The Force” after the painting by Sandro Botticelli depicting a woman enthroned holding a scepter, surrounded by a frieze of masks alternating with characters in terms. A second frieze illustrates some episodes from the life of the Prodigal Son; on the wing are those of the Chaste Suzanne
Diameter: 46.1 cm.

Very rare piece belonging to the production of pewter with relief decoration of the Renaissance, in France with François BRIOT and in Germany with Caspar ENDERLEIN, mainly.
Museography : An identical example is kept in the Dresden Museum and reproduced in “Zinn” by Hanns Ulrich Haedeke, page 117

Condition of conservation:
Consolidations of a long cleft on the wing and on the periphery of the umbilicus
Clefts at the junction of the wing and the movement
Some small fillings.
