                     Ethel Reed, born in 1874 in Newburyport (Massachusett) and died in 1912 in London, is an American artist, engraver, illustrator, designer and poster artist, one of the first women graphic designers of her time to have had, with her compatriot Alice Russell Glenny, an international stature.
                   Emily Pauline Johnson (1861-1931) is a “native” Canadian author, her Indian name Tekahionwake. His book of poems, The White Wampum, published in 1895, celebrates his Indian heritage and the world of the pioneers, through 36 poems recounting acts of glory or the daily life of the Mohicans.
