Jean Joseph Lecurieux, painter, engraver, and lithographer, was born in Dijon in 1801. He studied under Devosges and Guillon-Lethière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon from 1827. Awarded medals in 1844 and 1846, he received several commissions from the state between 1833 and 1840. His works are held in the collections of the Ministry of the Interior, the Museums of Dijon, Chaumont, Saint-Omer, and the Palace of Versailles.
