Embroidery, Early 19th

Superb embroidery on silk in thrown stitch, signed and dated "done in Nérac (lot et Garonne France) g…h aged 59 years 1813". The floral decoration in silk threads is particularly refined. In a wicker basket placed on a chenille terrace, a magnificent bouquet blossoms in 18th century style. On each side, very naive butterflies surround the flowers very faithfully represented in delicate tones. What makes this embroidery so charming is the framing of a garland of foliage and flowers of cornflowers, daffodils, daisies and lilacs, in bloom or in buds, all treated in lovely tones. This embroidery is in good condition, not insolated, however we note some small accidents (wetness and a small loss on the left) but given its age - 190 years - we forgive it! The frame is original, gilded with gold leaf 'gold and in very good condition.
