XVII Cent. Rock Crystal Reliquary 1st Class (bone) Relic St Candida Martyr
Description:
Unique reliquary made entirely in hand carved rock crystal from early XVII Century, France. With the First class (Ex Ossibus) bone Holy Relic of:
Saint Candida - Martyr
Outstanding example of early portable reliquary made with dedication using a material hard to come by and to work with such as rock crystal due to its fragility.
Inside, a fairly large portion of bone is wrapped in gold leaf with the name of the saint on top.
Condition
Excellent overall condition. no damage or missing parts.
