Barometer from the Louis XVI period, in carved and gilded wood. Dial signed CICERY, barometer maker for the Royal family. main street in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine at Monsieur Gervais, with the black head. On the back remains the label of the seller located in Versailles. Robert House. Martel Successor. Optician, 4 passage Saint-Pierre. Versailles Original gilding cleaned in excellent condition, with a few tiny partial retouches. Mechanism in perfect working order. Tube and mercury replaced with floats. The dial is surmounted in the upper part by a vase decorated with a floral bouquet resting on a terrace. The entourage of the dial is flanked on either side by uprights depicting openwork consoles, decorated on the upper part with large lotus leaves. In the lower part, a drapery rests on the top of the entourage of the thermometer resting on a gadrooned console.
