Unframed oil on canvas representing a family walk in a boat. Signed Henry Picou on the front of the boat. The canvas will require cleaning. Painting dating from the years 1860-1880. Henri-Pierre Picou was born in 1824 in Nantes. He died there in 1895. He was a pupil of Paul Delaroche and Charles Gleyre at the Royal School of Fine Arts in Paris. Winner of a second Prix de Rome in 1853. Museums: New York, Nantes, Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Orsay with "the birth of Pindar" painting from the Salon of 1849.
