"Small Monstrance - Reliquary "s. Gaudentii M." Carved Wood, Painted, France Or Italy XIXth"
Petite Monstrance - Reliquary of Saint Gaudenti, Martyr, in carved and painted wood. The wrapped fragment, labeled "S. Gaudentii M.", probably "ex ossibus", embedded in the round hollow of the upper part is decorated with small pearls. Episcopal seal in red wax on the back (cardboard cover and posterior red velvet). La Monstrance, lightly sculpted in low relief with floral decoration. A fine example of popular art, southern France or Italy? from the beginning of the 19th century. State of use (The Cross at the top missing).
