Pear-Shaped Covered Box in Murano Blown Glass with Mottled / Speckled Decoration (Effetti Macchie) in a Palette of Olive Greens, Forest Green, and Brown Nuances, the Lid Surmounted by a Finial Forming the Stem in Chased Bronze or Brass.

An emblematic specialty of the great Murano glass houses from the 1950s and 1960s — such as Barovier & Toso, A.V.E.M., or Seguso — the creation of trompe-l'œil decorative objects in the form of fruits combines the pursuit of organic textures with extremely precise expertise. The technique of inclusions of colored powders and pigments fused in the mass glass perfectly recreates the speckled coat and natural nuances of a pear, crowned by a goldsmith's work for the gripping stem.
