Art Nouveau Revolving Bookcase In Marquetry Emile Gallé Nancy
Art Nouveau period revolving bookcase in carved wood and marquetry from Emile Gallé in Nancy.
Very beautiful decor of a cathedral and birds in flight on the upper plate. It is supported by four twisted columns. Inlaid floral decoration on the lower shelf. Superb openwork floral decoration on the sides, including two sides which are very finely carved. It is signed on the board "Gallé".
This revolving bookcase is referenced on page 226 of Duncan's "Gallé Furniture" book (see photos).
Height : 95 cm. Width : 51 cm. Very good state. This is a very beautiful piece, rare !
