Large Mirror Frame Regence Period Golden Wood Carved With Shells
Very beautiful gilt wood frame with silver mirror in very good condition. Structure in oak, assembly with keys. Wood carved and decorated with shell. Bottoms engraved with diamonds, barleycorns and sandblasting. Very beautiful gilding very little taken. Do you know? The diamonds in the background as well as the shell are two elements widely used in ornamentation under the Regency. The fleur-de-lis in the corners was more used under Louis XIV.
