Louis XVI Trumeau Mirror In Painted Carved Wood, XIXth Time
Rarely seen!! Superb trumeau in carved wood painted in light grey. This large mirror forming a trumeau is out of the ordinary with this bouquet of flowers sculpted in the middle of the two mirrors. On the sides, garlands of flowers carved in application, pediment decorated with frieze of half-piastres in waves. The mirror is in basket handle with this bouquet of flowers in the middle which gives it charm and elegance. The flat sides were formerly drilled to put bronze sconces (holes filled). The very light gray paint is quite recent and perfectly highlights the beauty of this trumeau. The generous dimensions will bring luminosity and chic to your interior. Period late nineteenth century.
