Large Tombeau chest of drawers in rosewood and rosewood marquetry, Regency period, early Louis XV. It opens on the front with 5 drawers in three rows lined with rich handles and keyholes in gilded bronze. The uprights of the front legs are trimmed with gilt bronze drops and end with gilt bronze hooves. The top is adorned with a gray-pink veined white marble.
Repaired marble.
Stamped FROMAGEAU and jurande on the right front upright. Baptiste Fromageau, carpenter-cabinetmaker. Eighteenth century. received master in 1755. This chest of drawers has been restored and repolished with a shellac buffer by our workshop.
