Antique Billiard Table, Billiards Or Art Nouveau Snooker
A beautiful solid oak Art Nouveau billiard or billiard table by Orme and Son circa 1901. Standing on eight octagonal legs with stunning geometric patterns, this table has a great presence. The quality of the wood is the finest quarter-sawn oak, with exceptional rays. The long sides and short ends also feature a wide sculpted edge in the shape of an egg and dart. The table retains a pair of original brass scoring devices which would have been used in conjunction with a wall marker. We cleaned and waxed the entire frame and replaced the rubber cushions and fabric. Orme & Sons were one of the UK's finest manufacturers of snooker pool tables, they had branches in Liverpool, Manchester, London and Glasgow. Orme & Sons began trading in 1845 and received a Royal Warrant from Edward, Prince of Wales.
