A very pleasant walk in Venables, in the heart of the Normandy countryside, on a small natural path in the middle of a field of poppies (Venables is an old French town located in the department of Eure, near the banks of the Seine and not far from the town of Louviers).
Impressionism is here at its peak, in a palette of colors and a perfectly recognizable style since it is that of the School of ROUEN of which Jacques HUET is an illustrious representative.
A superb painting accompanied by its no less superb and imposing golden frame which, on its own, is already worth its weight in gold.

PROVENANCE : Family painting purchased by me from the Spilliaert Gallery in Lambersart in 1991. Certificate of authenticity attached.

Painting : A small scratch at the bottom right next to the signature (probably original since it can be seen on the photo of the certificate - additional photo at your disposal) and some dirt (filaments of dust/cobweb that I removed afterwards) otherwise in perfect condition.
Frame : Magnificent heavy frame in gilded wood and stucco, molded and carved, in very nice overall condition (a few slight signs of wear and a small lack on the interior frieze, at the bottom center (additional photo at your disposal)).

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Figurative painter of the School of ROUEN, Pupil of Albert MALET (1912-1986), Associate of French Artists since 1981, Jacques HUET has participated in numerous personal or collective exhibitions and received many awards for his works (medals, distinctions , honors, prizes, etc.).
He is exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen and in the museums of the cities of Honfleur and Le Havre.

"Trained in the talent of great "elbeuviens" painters (inhabitants of Elbeuf in Normandy) such as Roger POTEL and Lionel VERGETAS, disciple of Albert MALET for many decades, Jacques HUET is an incredible hard worker, devoting the least of his time to painting. time, with unusual passion and power. Here is painting, solid, assured, of a richness sprinkled with sensitivity, filled with brilliant effects, truly worthy of the love of true creation on the motif as this artist is fond of. With Jacques HUET, a joyous and veritable bath of impression and manner due to the School of Rouen to which he devotes himself intensely. The luminous richness of his palette is remarkable and his compositions never cease to charm lovers of the Normandy region as he knows how to capture the fluid mists, the flowering trees, the serene bodies of water and the changing skies dominating the cliffs. cauchoises (Pays de Caux, Normandy) or the beaches of Cotentin.
With superb and fidelity to the divided touch, attentive to nature, particularly sensitive to the impact of color and respectful of the site, Jacques HUET thus maintains the reality and the purity of a style always appreciated. And if there is only one left, it will be Jacques HUET, who remains unfailingly post-impressionist, while continuing, with his personal brilliance, to capture and transmit the effects of light, the reflections of colors by advocating over of the seasons, under his lively and precise touch, the attractions of a region blessed by painters, and whose contemporary attractions do not manage to undermine the superb durability of an unequaled work, dedicated to the mysteries of the seduction of the valley of the Seine. »
