Rare large Chinese incense burner from the 19th century representing Shoulao, the god of longevity. It is these Chinese bronzes, of great finesse of execution and a refined style, which inspired the French sculptor François Pompon.

Lost wax bronze, very beautiful dark patina. 42 x 31 cm, note an old weld on the right rear leg that does not affect the stability of the whole.
