This Art Nouveau multi-layered glass paste vase was made by Richard Burgsthal (1884-1944) for the Loetz glassworks between 1920 and 1929. Richard Burgsthal, whose real name is René Billa, was a painter and master glassmaker. He produced works that can be found at the Abbey of Fontfroide, in the cathedrals of Carcassonne and Narbonne, in the museums of Béziers and Orsay.
