Small anthropomorphic vase used by shamans for the preparation of potions. It represents a seated figure with a globular body with a small chest, atrophied limbs and a face with coffee bean eyes, pierced ears. Body paintings formed of broken lines and lozenges adorn almost the entire piece.

It is traditionally believed that the Huastec culture developed in the states of Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz and Tamaulipas, and more particularly concentrated along the Pánuco River and on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The Huastecs are the descendants of certain Maya groups in southern Mexico, their cultural peak being before the Aztecs established their empire in Mesoamerica.
