Costa Rica / Region of Nicoya

Anthropomorphic statuette representing a woman originally resting on three feet. The arms are glued along the body, hands positioned flat. A large tubular body receives a small chest, the abdomen, like the back punctuated with a rectangular pattern, the sex signified with the help of a discreet pastillage. The disproportionate head placed directly on the body accommodates eyes materialized by the technique of pastillage and overhung by wide eyebrows. A large nose placed above a mouth with thick lips, the ears adorned with circular tambas, the head adorned with a headdress with patterns of intersecting lines.
