Jue - cup-shaped wine vessel on three legs, used in ancient China. In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, bronze Jue decorated with a taotie pattern were already produced. This bronze cup is also decorated with this pattern, which resembles the mask of a mythical monster.
China, Qing dynasty, Guangxu. Signature visible on the photos : 光绪乙辰年造」 (Guangxu yichen nian zao), which translates as “Made in the year Yichen of the Guangxu reign” — that is, 1904.
