Edmond Quinton 1892-1969
Painter, draftsman and engraver, he trained with his father, Clément Quinton, already a renowned painter, who was the subject of a retrospective in Saint-Maur. Straddling naturalism and impressionism, Edmond Quinton is often defined as a labor painter. His bucolic landscapes have the revealing simplicity of great mastery. With a few confident strokes, he immortalized the French countryside and placed himself among the major painters of the Marne Valley. It is referenced in the main quotation books such as the Bénézit and on www.artprice.com/ with great sales.
