Biography
Kasimir Luigi was born on April 18 in 1881 in Pettau in Austria-Hungarian Empire (know Ptuj, Slovenia). He was an Austro-Hungarian painter, etcher, lithographer of urban landscapes and architecture. He was one of the first artists to completely develop the colour etching.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Luigi was mainly influenced by a Swedish painter Anders Zorn (1860 – 1920) and a German painter Leopold Graf von Kalckreuth (1855 – 1928).

His engravings of city views and monuments, brought him real fame.

He died on August 5 in 1962 in Grinzing, Austria. Today his works can be found in private and public collections worldwide. The Kasimir Museum in Marietta, USA is dedicated to display multiple plate colour etchings by Luigi, Tanna and Robert Kasimir.
