He is one of three masked characters in the Masquerades telling a complex story involving Mboom, the controversial brother of kingdom founder and first ruler Woot, who competed for the affections of Woot's wife. Depending on the context, these masks may also embody nature spirits, commoners, or nearby Mbuti (pygmy) forest dwellers.
