"Bust Of A Girl And Twisted Column, In Golden Plaster - 1900/1920"
Set of two Golden Plaster Sculptures, consisting of a Bust and its Column. The first element represents a Girl with a Fine face and Delicate features. His gaze, placid, is slightly oriented to the right. Neither sad nor happy, the Child seems Serene, perhaps Pensive. Her hair is pulled up in a bun and girded with a headband. On her neck, Pretty ringlets escaped from her Hairstyle further accentuate the Young Age of the Character. The Artist has chosen to reveal to us the shoulders and the beginning of the neckline of the Girl, left innocently bare. This Bust ends with a Cylindrical base with a shrunken body, Black in color, deliberately contrasting with this Decorative Object which is entirely Golden. The second element, on which the first is placed, is a Generously Carved Column. It is made up of a Capital cut into Windings, on which rests a Round top. The Central Shaft of this Harness is embellished with Twists accompanied in their movements by Plant Garlands. An ornate Collar overhangs a foot embellished with large Acanthus Leaves, and which ends with a Circular plinth. We will undoubtedly appreciate all the Freshness and Softness emanating from this Little Girl with Golden Skin, certainly highlighted by a - paradoxically - Richly Sculpted Column. ******** Period: 1900 / 1920 Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
