A blue and white Japanese Arita Ware Kendi or drinking ewer.
Period: Edo Circa: 1660-1680,
Medium: Hard-paste porcelain painted in cobalt blue under a clear glaze (Hizen ware) depicting Mount Fuji with stylized birds and clouds, separated by floral motifs, bulbous neck, and spout decorated with leaves. The rim has a dent made by the potter before the glaze was applied and fired.
