Secretaire Return From Egypt, Mahogany Burl Veneer - Early Nineteenth

Secretaire 'Return from Egypt', in Burl Mahogany Veneer, with Marble top, predominantly Dark Gray discreetly nuanced with Black and White. It has a high drawer with a rounded and modestly molded front. Below, this Secretary offers a flap with four symmetrical Veneer sheets. He discovers a Tabernacle composed of a Niche, embellished by a panel cut into an Arch and dummy Columns. This Theater also offers seven drawers with various capacities, the last of which has a Secret opening. The workspace, firmly held horizontally by a Pair of Straight Compasses, is covered with Green Leather, with Central Vignette and Golden Frieze. In the lower part, this piece of furniture opens with two doors. They house three other drawers, arranged in three rows and assembled in Dovetails. This Secretary is supplied with its two recent keys, fitted to the Generous Original keyholes, all in finely crafted Brass. Note the Reliability of the Locks, with double attachment points for the flap, top and bottom for the right door. The front uprights are in sheathed Pilasters. They are surmounted by Egyptian Busts with Nemes Headdresses, and finished with Chased Bronze Rings. The set rests at the front on two blackened wooden claw feet and at the back on two straight feet. The interiors of the drawers and the bottom of the Cabinet are in Oak. We will take pleasure in installing our work universe in this Bicentenary Secretary with the plurality of interesting storage. Everything close at hand but out of sight, everything impeccably ordered but totally concealed. ******** Period: Early 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
