Somno In Lacquered And Gilded Sheet Empire Period XIX
Somno in black and gold lacquered sheet metal opening by two doors underlined with gilt frames and adorned with a bronze lion's muzzle acting as a handle. The doors reveal an interior composed of two red lacquered shelves. Molded and gilded basket-shaped top on a background painted in imitation of Saint Anne gray marble. This somno was originally an early 19th century plate warmer. Lacquer and gilding in very good condition, beautiful patina. (slight shock and small loss on the top)
