Cloisonne Vase, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912)
Vase made using the cellular enamel technique (cloisonne). The central cartouches represent birds and insects amid lush vegetation. All around are depicted various whimsical ornaments and a crane - Tsuru, in Japan a symbol of wisdom, luck and longevity. Copper covered with cloisonné enamel. Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912) Height 26 cm, dia. 17cm. Very good state of preservation, crack on the underside, seems to be a "manufacturing defect". Free delivery in EU. !
