Jean COCTEAU (1889-1963) French poet, painter, draftsman, playwright and filmmaker. Jean Cocteau is a flamboyant jack-of-all-trades artist who marked the 20th century with his genius. He is also the author of many drawings and these are now presented all over the world. This Lampe Berger Paris reproducing a drawing by Cocteau was produced by the porcelain manufacturer Giraud Limoges France editor. It is now a rare product which makes it a collector's item attesting to real French know-how and expertise. Maurice Berger, a pharmacy assistant, wanted to purify the air in hospital rooms in the 19th century. The creation of its innovative process, a diffusion system by catalysis which was no longer content to mask odors but to destroy them, will do the rest. The Lampe Berger is a unique French creation, using a patented technique thanks to its catalytic burner which still offers an unrivaled quality of fragrance. Its encounter with the world of the arts, the attention of its great figures for this object of innovation, its interpretation by renowned designers carried the creativity of an era, the vision of a generation, that of Coco, Picasso or Cocteau. The Berger lamp went from an object to an icon, from an atmosphere purifier to an atmosphere creator. It was no longer just about purified air but about delicate fragrances. The art of life.
