MONS, MALINES Superb series of knives called "CROSSE". 18th MONS AND MECLINES in solid silver. 18th century Belgian work. series of large 8 Mons hallmark knives. 1766 original blades. Hallmarked Mons. Listed but unidentified master goldsmith. Hallmark D in crowned English letter superb quality of manufacture very heavy handle. This series is completed by a series of Mechelen knives of exactly the same model as those of Mons. 4 large Malines 1780 knives and 8 small knives. Mechelen 1782. Master silversmith JOHANES CORNELIUS HENDRICKX. All blades are original. very good quality of the sleeves (very heavy). Length of large knives: 25.5 cm Length of small knives: 22 cm Total weight: 2190 g Good condition.
