Object description :

"Walter Biddlecombe (1855-1903) Herd Of Cows Passing Through The Village"
A nice testimony to a bygone era, this picturesque and anecdotal scene of a herd of cows crossing a village certainly in the Alps where the artist often went in the company of his friend the painter Adolphe Monticelli. The work in good condition is made in oil on canvas, it is offered in a pretty period gilt frame (only two small gilding snags which will be restored if necessary) which measures 54 cm by 74 cm and 35 cm by 55 for the canvas alone. English artist living in Provence, friend of Monticelli, he exhibited at the Royal Academy and at Suffolk Streert from 1883 to 1886
