Ballewijns Guillaume is a Belgian painter. Training at the Academy of Hasselt. Around 1900 he moved to Schaerbeek (Brussels) and perfected himself at the Brussels Academy with G. Van Strydonck and A. Van Hammée. Author mainly of landscapes, alleys, picturesque corners of Brussels, city views (Hasselt, Anderlecht, Brussels), also paints rustic interiors, Campine landscapes, some floral compositions and portraits. As a draftsman, he is also inspired by the female nude. His style recalls that of Leys and De Braekeleer: a simple, sincere, even intimate style. He always strives to render reality with meticulousness and light plays an important role in his works.
