Woven rug with very fine detail and beautiful color coordination. An extraordinary blend of "garden of paradise" motifs in its center framed by beautiful Persian poetry by Omar Khayyam masterfully written on all sides. The rug is hand woven with the finest quality of workmanship and technique of a master weaver from Northwest Persia, city of Tabriz. The weaver signed his masterpiece "Eyuni" with the greatest humility at the top of the carpet.

The poems of Omar Khayyam in this mat are selective verses from three famous poems by him.
Below is the reference of his poems in this rug :

*Drinking wine and being happy is my religion. To be free from any faith or blasphemy is my religion. I said to the bride of life, what is your dowry. Your happiness is my dowry, she answered. Shame on the heart that knows no pain.

*A heart that is not madly in love with attractive beauty. A day spent without being in love, is one more worthless day than can be imagined.

*Have a glass of wine that eliminates prejudice and discrimination. One who eliminates division among all nations.
Don't stop a potion that makes a thousand problems go away in a single drop.

Tabriz rugs are distinguished by their excellent weaving and their remarkable adherence to the classical traditions of antique Persian rug design. They cannot be distinguished by any particular pattern or by their imaginable colors, from rich, brilliant tones to soft pastels. The city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran/Persia was the first capital of the Safavid dynasty, and it can claim to have been a center of carpet production longer than any other city in Iran. It is therefore not surprising that the rugs woven there have managed to maintain the highest technical standards and the most varied repertoire.

Size : 380x260 cm
Conditions : Low wool, heavy wear, tramp visible on a large part of the rug.
A restoration visible at the top left of the carpet as well as 3 stains, one of which is more marked than the other two. Arrested fringes, a small lack of fringe. Edges redone. Carpet worn but no lack or holes.

The wear is not very visible when looking at the rug as a whole (due to the meticulousness and the number of patterns that make up the rug). It also remains very well preserved and solid.
