Les tableaux r\u00e9alis\u00e9s depuis 1850 \u00e9taient quant \u00e0 eux produits presque exclusivement pour la client\u00e8le chinoise. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 regroup\u00e9s dans l\u2019exposition par th\u00e9matiques (paysages, portraits de femmes ou d\u2019enfants, sc\u00e8nes familiales, tableaux inspir\u00e9s de la litt\u00e9rature ou de la mythologie chinoises, symboles chinois). Ces connaissances nouvelles, les Chinois les mettent \u00e0 profit dans le commerce en exportant vers l\u2019Occident, entre 1750 et 1840, des \u0153uvres peintes dans un style europ\u00e9en.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s le milieu du XIX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, cet art commence \u00e0 se d\u00e9mocratiser en Chine o\u00f9, avec l\u2019\u00e9clatement de la premi\u00e8re guerre de l\u2019opium en 1839, les ateliers de production se concentrent sur le march\u00e9 local.
