René Ligeron (1880- 1946) Village Near The Forest Setting Sun School Of Barbizon flag

Object description :

"René Ligeron (1880- 1946) Village Near The Forest Setting Sun School Of Barbizon"
Seen from the edge of the forest in early autumn, our oil on panel depicts a pretty village illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun. A rich palette of colors in shades of ochre, light and darker, grey, water green, bright yellow with a few cleverly applied touches of coral to set the stage for this beautiful end to the day. Dimensions: 41 cm x 32.5 (standard format 6 F with stamp on the back) This oil was produced on a bevelled mahogany panel which comes from the supplier of materials for artists, the famous Maison Lefranc -now Lefranc Bougeois- which has crossed the centuries until today (see stamp on the back). This is to say its quality! It is the work of a Parisian artist referenced in Bénézit, René Ligeron, painter, engraver born in 1880 who exhibited at the Salons of French Artists and French watercolorists (Source Bénézit). In its own juice, small discreet lack of paint, dirt (see photos). It deserves a light cleaning. Many other objects to discover in my stand of the Salons in which I participate. Follow my gallery to be informed of new products and to know the dates of the next Salons ... Any questions? I remain at your disposal. Feel free to call me or send me a message. I will answer you with great pleasure.
