Object description :

"Pair Of Large Cloisonne Vases With Eagles, Shippo-yaki, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912)"
A pair of vases decorated using the cloisonné technique (Shippo-yaki). The intricate decorations represent eagles, sparrows, trees and flowers. The copper body of the vases is covered with a network of thin metal wires forming a pattern on the vase, then the artist pours liquid glass of different colors into the cells formed between the wires, after cooling, he polishes it and repeats these actions many times until the entire container has a smooth surface. Height 39.5 cm, diameter 15 cm. Shippo-yaki, Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912) One of the vases is in very good condition, the other has minor damage visible in the photos: cracks in the enamel near the eagle sitting on a branch, above which a place of repair is visible, and a small damage to the edge of the spout. Free delivery in EU. ! I send parcels by insured courier (DPD or DHL). All items are packaged very carefully.
