"Large Regency Mirror With Glazing Beads In Gilded Wood, 18th Century"
Large Regency mirror in gilded wood from the early 18th century with double frames of flowered and leafy sticks. The glazing beads are flanked, in each corner, by spandrels decorated with shells and arabesques as well as small gilt bronze and fleur-de-lis spandrels in the central part.
The pediment is fretted and we will note the delicacy of its ornamentation combining scrolls, gadroons, foliage scrolls, arabesques and flowers. It is also crowned with a large shell as well as two baskets of flowers on the sides.
This elegant mirror, very decorative and large, has retained its original mercury glass.
