The Verlux brand
This is a brand found on certain industrially pressed glasses in France in the interwar period, it could be another mark of convenience used by Edmond Etling. The excellent quality of these creations, their beautiful material as well as the artistic originality of the decorative motifs were not within the reach of just any glass factory. Only Lalique, Sabino and Sèvres were capable of an execution of such a level. The first two necessarily excluded, we can only attribute it to Sèvres, especially since in this prestigious crystal factory were drawn the molds of the Etling editions.

Edmond Etling
During the 1920s and 1930s, this decorative art dealer, whose store was located in Paris at number 29 rue de Paradis, was one of the most important publishers of "multiples" in the fields of pressed-molded glass. The secret of his success was on the one hand to adhere closely to the taste of the day and, on the other hand, to hire fashionable artists. The molds for his glass models were his property. Their production, entrusted to the crystal factory of Sèvres until its acquisition by the crystal factory of Choiy-le-Roi in 1932, was continued by the latter until the outbreak of the war in 1939. They were still deposited there in 1952. when Choisy-le-Roi sold all of its press molding equipment to Vannes-le-Châtel. Of Jewish origin, Edmond Etling and all the members of his family were deported to an extermination camp in Germany after the defeat of France in 1940. None returned to claim the inheritance of these precious moulds.
