He meets Maurice Denis and Edouard Vuillard who introduced him to engraving and lithography. He exhibits his paintings of Pont-Aven at the Galerie Druet. He signed a contract with the Bernheim Gallery which exhibits in New York. Member of the Academy of Fine Arts, president of the Society of French painters engravers, he was the last artist to have worked in the studio of Paul Gauguin Leveze-Pont-Aven. Paul Cerusier conidérait him as his spiritual successor.
