Beautiful charcoal by Eugène Alluaud representing a lovers' quarrel, years 20-30. Eugène Alluaud, a major figure of the Crozant School, was in turn porcelain maker, painter, as well as curator of the Adrien Dubouché Porcelain Museum in Limoges from 1928 to 1934. He discovered Crozant in 1887 and had his residence built there. summer in 1905. He was a friend of the poet Rollinat and the painter Guillaumin, from whom he was strongly influenced by the Impressionists. He is also well known for his drawings of the Great War of 1914-1918 and his representations of French and foreign soldiers.
