"Noble Portrait, 1700-750"
The painting represents a three-quarter side view of a man of indefinite age, presumably from 35 to 45 years old, elegantly dressed in a jacket and shirt embroidered as the fashion of the time proposed, probable exponent of the Piedmontese aristocracy. It can be deduced that the character of this painting has strong similarities with an oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist, existing in the castle of San Martino Alfieri, which bears the words "Marchese di Favria" on a movable plate.
The two men depicted have the same structure of the face, as well as of the nose, eyes and browbone, same attitude, same clothing.
These are two people who could have the same area of origin (Canavese) or even some parental ties.
