Object description :

"Historical Wax Seal : Templars, Bronze, Gold / Silver, 19th Century"
Superb small object, particularly rare, cast bronze then chiseled, with two patinas, Gold and Silver, it features Jacques de Molay, born circa 1244 in Molay, Brûlé vive in Paris, 1314, he was the 23rd and last master of the Order of the Temple. This execution will trigger the legendary curse of the Templars, and the end of the Capetians, 700 years ago.
The sculptor represents him in a proud attitude, the large cloak with the Templar cross thrown over a gilded doublet hiding a chainmail, his hand on hilt of his sword.
The seal part is engraved of two initials, Gothic letters: probably: UC
Good condition, beautiful appearance, note that the sword is incomplete, or broken.
Beautiful little seal, circa 1830, in the spirit instilled by the Duchess of Berry medieval revival ..
Dimensions: 7cm x 2.5cm x 1.6cm. see our detailed photos,
