Marie de Bièvre (1865-1940),
Belgian painter of still lifes of flowers and fruits, pastellist. She studied at the Art School of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. Marie de Bievre participated in the founding of the Voorwaerts circle in 1885 and exhibited, with success, in 1887 at the "General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Brussels", at the Circle of Women Painters in Brussels in 1890, at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in Ghent in 1902, from Liège as well as in Paris, Berlin and Munich. She obtains an excellent reputation as a painter of flowers and accessories by her qualities as colourists.
