Elisée Maclet (1881-1962) Watercolor Paris Crue De La Seine

Elisée MACLET was born in 1881 in Lihons in the Somme; he died in Paris in 1962. Painter of urban landscapes, he painted mainly Paris where he settled in 1906. The Butte Montmartre where he stayed is one of his favorite subjects but also many other districts of Paris. This ink and watercolor in rich colors on strong paper represents a scene of Parisian life during the floods of the Seine in Paris around 1910. The crowd throngs on the Pont des Invalides to reach the Champs-Elises, leaving the party to its right. rear of the Grand Palais. Dimensions: 27 cm X 38 cm (sheet) + rod It is highlighted by a wooden rod of good size. It has not been cross-checked, the design is "full margins". The first photo is that of the unframed work and therefore without glass and the following ones framed under protective glass. Elisée MACLET has exhibited in numerous galleries both in France and abroad. It is listed in particular in Bénézit, dictionary of painters, sculptors, draftsmen and engravers. This work also comes from the estate of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques DAZZI, great art collectors, a collection which was dispersed at the Hotel Drouot in several successive sales in 2014 and 2015.
